The Rock Exchange

Zach, Can You Bite a Cabinet?

There is both a perk and a downfall to working with a group comprised of only TV kids. The perk; we all know each other and have mostly worked together before. The downfall; our schedules are [F-WORD]ed.

The key to any great relationship is communication, so our first step was making a group chat.

Our second step was to forget about the chat for a week, as we were all busy with our segments for TV.

Anywho, after a brief intermission we set out on brainstorming, starting with the music video. The vibe for our assigned song, "Blind" by Korn, was very out there. Creating a narrative story for it seemed like the wrong choice, and so we went for something more promotional/artistic. And that something was clowns.

Mateo was really into an idea where a bunch of clowns one-by-one joined in on beating the living daylights out of some guy (who would be acted by me..). We were generally fine with it, but it turned out being really random and we didn't have a plan for the events of the video. So we pivoted.

Instead of focusing on some random clowns, we sought an aesthetic that would be "artsy", random, and most importantly distinctive without being overwhelming. After some deliberation, that turned to prison jumpsuits, and we settled on the name "Breakout" for our lead single, as it fit the theme and was a play-on-words since it was their first song. I worked on making a cover photo, which was a very odd process thanks to Photoshop's generative fill.

Now all that's left is to lock in on our presentation and finish up our storyboards/location scouting. Thanks for watching, make sure to like and subscribe Pridesters.
